H Iσπανία ηττήθηκε με 0-2 από τη Χιλή κι έτσι αποκλείστηκε και μαθηματικά από τη συνέχεια της διοργάνωσης. Οι παγκόσμιοι πρωταθλητές του 2010 κλείνουν έτσι μια 6ετία γεμάτη τίτλους και δόξας, έχοντας κατακτήσει δύο συνεχόμενα Euro και ένα Μουντιάλ από το 2008 μέχρι σήμερα.
Από το βράδυ της Τετάρτης (18/6) πρώτο θέμα συζήτησης στα κοινωνικά δίκτυα δεν θα μπορούσε να είναι άλλο από το πρόωρο αντίο της "Φούρια Ρόχα". Υπήρχαν αυτοί που υποκλίθηκαν σε μια από τις καλύτερες ομάδες όλων των εποχών που έχουν περάσει από τα γήπεδα, ενώ απ' την άλλη υπήρχαν και αυτοί που θέλησαν να... πειράξουν την ομάδα του Βιθέντε ντελ Μπόσκε (και τον ίδιο!).
