Το έργο είχε ανατεθεί στον Τομ Μάλεϊ πριν από οκτώ χρόνια, ωστόσο σε τέσσερις μήνες αναμένεται να έχει ολοκληρωθεί, δεδομένου ότι η οικογενειακή επιχείρηση του Φρέντι Σέφερντ (πρώην πρόεδρος της Νιούκαστλ) έχει αναλάβει το κόστος.

"Το εγχείρημα "αναστήθηκε". Αναθέσαμε στον Τομ Μάλεϊ να το τελειώσει. Η οικογένεια σκέφτηκε ότι έτσι έπρεπε να γίνει. Εμείς και η οικογένεια Χολ τον είχαμε κλείσει στην ομάδα κι εκείνος αποδείχθηκε πιστός υπηρέτης της Νιούκαστλ. Γι' αυτό αποφασίσαμε να το κάνουμε.

Αυτό που μας ενδιαφέρει σε πρώτη φάση είναι να τελειώσει το άγαλμα κι εν συνεχεία να αποφασίσουμε που θα το στήσουμε", είπε μεταξύ άλλων ο Φρέντι Σέφερντ.

Να σημειωθεί ότι ο Τομ Μάλεϊ είχε δημιουργήσει την προτομή του Σερ Μπόμπι Ρόμπσον που βρίσκεται έξω από το Γκάλοουγκεϊτ Έντ στο "Σεντ Τζέιμς Παρκ".
