O αποκλεισμός στα πέναλτι σε λυγίζει. Μετά από 120 λεπτά πραγματικής μάχης με την Κόστα Ρίκα, η Εθνική ομάδα έχασε με 5-3 στη διαδικασία των πέναλτι και όπως ήταν φυσικό τα δάκρυα έκαναν την εμφάνισή τους. Δείτε της φωτογραφίες από το... δράμα του αποκλεισμού.

Η Εθνική δεν κατάφερε να περάσει για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία της στους "8" του Παγκοσμίου Κυπέλλου. Το ματς κόντρα στην Κόστα Ρίκα μετά το 1-1 της κανονικής διάρκειας οδηγήθηκε στην παράταση κι έπειτα στα πέναλτι, όπου εκεί έσπασαν καρδιές.

Το πέναλτι του Γκέκα που απέκρουσε ο Κέιλορ Νάβας έκρινε το αποτέλεσμα του αγώνα, με τους Έλληνες διεθνείς όπως ήταν φυσικό αμέσως μετά το τελευταίο εύστοχο χτύπημα της Κόστα Ρίκα να ξεσπούν. Ο μοιραίος δε μετά το χαμένο πέναλτι, Γκέκας, ήταν απαρηγόρητος.
